I played a Witch of the Veil merc in my first playtrough, wasn't much impressed. Then I got Toybox and started a save with 5 mercs and 2 class gestalt. One of them is a Transmuter Arcanist/Witch of the veil. Sage sorcerer and lich has been the most fun combo I’ve done for now. Honestly any melee and Demon feels fantastic, I know technically it's in the bottom tier for paths. But thematically I love it.
